We are hiring a Hardware Engineer, who will be Part of the Customer Success Engineering team. This particular position involves providing, at Hardware level, Rolling Wireless product expertise, system integration knowledge and HW troubleshooting skills to support our support line activity to the customer.

Position / Assignment Purpose
Support hardware-related questions, issues and requirements reported by customers and monitor them through our database.
Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work

Customer System Integration Support:

  • Be the hardware technical expert in front of the customers during the integration phase of Rolling Wireless products, providing design suggestions and analyzing the main issues faced during this phase.
  • Work in close relationship with Customer’s R&D team.
  • Review customers schematics and perform hardware design reviews.
  • Troubleshooting support to ensure the customer application will be ready on schedule and with expected Quality level.
  • Investigate issues reported by customers in close collaboration with other team members or platforms development engineers to make sure the most optimized solution will be provided to customers.
  • Set pertinent reproduction scenarios of the behaviors reported by the customer to understand the potential issues with the design.
  • Communicate investigation progress at regular intervals to the Customer and Customer Project Manager.
  • Provide detailed explanations to the customer of what the problem was and which solution has been implemented.

Advanced Engineering:

  • Support customers during their certification phase.
  • Design of Prove of Concepts (PoCs) to promote Rolling Wireless’ products in front of customers.
  • Create application notes for guiding the customers on key features/subjects related to wireless technologies.

Continuous improvement:

  • Based on project experience, update/create all relevant documentations to prevent customers facing similar issues in the future.
  • Closely collaborate with internal R&D and Product marketing to improve product documentation to help customer getting the best of Rolling Wireless products.
  • Suggest changes/improvements in the different products proposed in Rolling Wireless portfolio to differentiate and adapt the product to actual and future customer needs.

Required Skills and Competencies
  • Issue debugging skills in HW investigations.
  • Overall system view of the HW design of embedded solutions.  
  • Expertise in Schematics review.
  • Expertise in PCB layout routing for design review.
  • Expertise in discrete components and Integrated Circuits (ICs).
  • Expertise in power supply designs.
  • Expertise in EMC and filtering related components.      
  • Expertise in thermal constraints and analysis.   
  • Issue debugging skills in HW investigations.
  • Knowledge in Baseband (Memory, CPU,…)
  • Knowledge in peripherals (PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART..).
  • Knowledge in Radio Frequency and Wireless technologies.
  • Knowledge in cellular systems (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G).    
  • Experience and autonomy in issues investigation/resolution.
  • Skills in documentation writing / review.
  • Synthesis mind and reporting skills.      
  • Customer communication and management.    
  • English communication.
  • Knowledge in GNSS solution.   
  • Knowledge in WLAN solution.  
  • Knowledge in V2X solution.      
  • Knowledge in Bluetooth solution.                     
  • Knowledge in eCall and ERA Glonass solutions.           
  • Knowledge in manufacturing process and test.
