Senior Manager - Global Automotive Software Sales & Business Development

Position / Assignment Purpose

Part of Sales team and reporting to the SVP Global Sales, the Senior Manager - Global Automotive Software Sales & Business Development is responsible for aggressively growing Rolling Wireless’s software and services bookings and revenue with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers globally.

Europe-based with a global commercial mandate, the Senior Manager - Global Automotive Software Sales & Business Development will be an individual contributor who personally creates, qualifies, advances, negotiates and closes complex software and services opportunities with Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.


Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work

  1. Own Software Bookings & Revenue: Achieve software and services revenue targets by leading the complete sales cycle, from opportunity identification and qualification through commercial negotiation, contract closure, and revenue realization.
  2. Build & Execute Software Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a global software growth strategy, aligned with the SVP Global Sales and corporate objectives, prioritizing target customers, use cases, and programs while creating a sustainable pipeline of new business opportunities.
  3. Convert customer needs into business opportunities: Engage customers to understand technical and business challenges, then translate those needs into differentiated software, services, and platform solutions with clear business value.
  4. Lead Commercial Structuring & Contracting: Define and negotiate pricing, licensing, services, support models, and contractual terms that balance customer value, business growth, and profitability.
  5. Drive Cross-Functional Opportunity Execution: Coordinate Product, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Legal, and Customer teams to ensure successful pursuit, approval, and execution of software opportunities.
  6. Partner with Account Managers: Work jointly with Account Managers to develop account strategies, identify software opportunities, and drive successful customer engagements while maintaining clear ownership of software pursuits.
  7. Develop Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystems: Build and manage relationships with Tier 1s, OEMs, technology partners, and system integrators to expand market reach, strengthen solutions, and accelerate business growth.
  8. Ensure Commercial Excellence & Forecast Accuracy: Maintain disciplined pipeline management, CRM accuracy, forecasting, and performance reporting to provide reliable business visibility and support achievement of sales objectives.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of B2B sales and business development experience, including significant exposure to automotive, embedded software, connectivity, or related technology markets.
  • Proven track record of achieving software, technology, or services bookings and revenue targets through direct customer engagement and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or comparable technology customers.
  • Experience developing business cases, pricing strategies, software licensing models, Statements of Work (SOWs), and recurring service agreements.
  • Working knowledge of automotive software platforms, Linux-based environments, embedded systems, software integration, and vehicle connectivity solutions.
  • Experience operating in global, cross-functional organizations and working effectively across multiple regions, cultures, and time zones.
  • Professional fluency in English is required; additional European or Asian languages are advantageous.

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to identify customer challenges and translate them into compelling software and services propositions.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen in software monetization, including licensing, subscription, NRE, support, maintenance, and professional services business models.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to lead complex opportunities and mobilize cross-functional teams without direct managerial authority.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including opportunity qualification, business case development, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Proven ability to establish trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders while balancing customer satisfaction with business objectives.
  • Highly disciplined in pipeline management, CRM utilization, forecasting accuracy, and execution against measurable business objectives.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving business environment.


Location: This position can be based in Budapest, Munich, Frankfurt, or Paris.
