Customer Program Manager


Rolling Wireless is an international company with 20+ years of experience in developing cellular modems and software for automotive market. We are worldwide the largest 2nd Tier supplier of cellular modems to the automotive industry.

Position / Assignment Purpose

Part of the Customer Success Engineering team, the Customer Program manager is tasked to understand and discuss with customer their needs and coordinate Rolling Wireless efforts to answer customer expectation from very early phase of  RFQ, during program execution untill end of commercial phase.

As main point of contact of customer and technical reference she/he participates in the presales activity, supporting Sales to manage RFI/RFQ project. After the award, She/He leads the overall technical and execution synchronization with internal and external stakeholders. She/He supports Quality after SOP to manage PCN, FA.

  • Collaborate closely with regional Sales for biz dev programs, organize and manage the technical part of the RFI/RFQ project in support of Sales and Marketing.
  • Establish and maintain Statement of Work from very begining of execution phase,
  • Put in place the project structure and organisation to synchronize internal project development and customer project development.
  • Ensure technical and schedule alignment during execution phase and propose adequate services to facilitate integration and usage of Rolling Wireless products inside customer device/application.
  • Provide first technical support to customer from Pre-sales, execution to after SOP activities.


Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work

The CPM will handle Business Opportunity and/or Customer Project in Execution.
% is given as an indication of the possible workload and will balance depending on objectives:

1) Business Opportunity Development (30% to 60%) 

  • With Sales and PMM (Product Management Marketing), identify potential customer projects in your region and the organization resources/competencies that are required to get design-win.
  • Gathering the voice of customers, capture automotive use cases & trends
  • Be ready to present the roadmap, manage features demo with internal support, get requirements from customers to share with Marketing
  • Foster and develop a positive working relationship with technical stakeholders at prospects/customers to get information on new projects, highlight the Rolling Wireless advantages and streamline the development phase (RFQ answers, technical workshop, …)
  • As part of the Tiger Team (strategic team setup with a representative of each department involved on the RFQ), organize and manage the technical part of the RFQ project and lead the technical communication with customer in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and R&D
  • Structure and share all the relevant information to move the project from RFQ to Execution (RFQ answer, Customer expectation, Planning, SoW, …)


2 ) Project Execution Phase (60%) 

  • Be the customer voice withing the company and the company’s voice to the customer
  • Clarify the projects objectives with the customer, manage the SoW and define the way to work with the customer
  • Be responsible or support internal teams to put in place contracts with customers/suppliers
  • Plan, lead and track project realization from specification, feasibility to mass production and field deployment on customer side by applying adequate standard processes and declination
  • Drive troubleshooting, Q&A, change request and service request with the relevant people
  • Control project execution through appropriate indicators (Milestones, Tickets status, activity on the project, …)
  • Pro actively animate and federate project team around customer expectations
  • Synchronize with Product Marketing, R&D, Quality and Sales the actions plan and the communication to customer
  • Identify and manage risks related to the project
  • Report regularly project status to interfaces and escalation hierarchy.


3) Support Consolidation (10%) 

  • Provide Rolling Wireless all relevant information about the application(s) evolution of the prospects/customers (component content, system requirements development, new products requirements, integration strategy, competition, etc.)
  • Assist in product trainings, workshops, product demonstration
  • Comply and contribute to quality improvement policy defined at corporate and direction level. Systematically use projects, actions return of experience to propose and implement, when applicable, continuous improvement plan.


Required Experience

  • Engineer degree with 7+ years’ experience in automotive projects (Telematics or Infotainment….)
  • Experience in project management (Transversal Management, Synthesis mind and Synthetic reporting)
  • Experience working with remote teams and in an international environment
  • Strong customer-orientation and collaboration mindset
  • Dynamic, Pro Active, Organized, Rigourous and good level of Autonomy
  • Embedded system architecture and its advantages and constraints
  • Language: Fluent English is mandatory.


Desired Education, Experience and Competencies: 

  • Project manager certified
  • Automotive technology/process knowledge
  • Embedded Linux (Kernel, Boot, security, integration, Yocto…)
  • Telecom system: 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G…
  • GNSS, V2X, Wifi/BT.
