Rolling Wireless leads cellular NAD module market

"Rolling Wireless led the cellular NAD module market, capturing nearly 30% revenue share", says industry analyst firm Counterpoint Technology Market Research.

In its Global Automotive NAD Module and Chipset Tracker for Q3, 2021, Counterpoint Technology Market Research ranks Rolling Wireless in a clear leadership position. The firm estimates a 29.9% revenue share for Rolling Wireless in Q3 2021.

Commenting on the findings, research analyst Soumen Mandal said: “Rolling Wireless, LG and Continental were the top three NAD module vendors globally in Q3 2021 in terms of revenue. These three brands captured two-thirds of the total market revenue."

In a press release, the analyst firm highlights Rolling Wireless' good relationships with leading automakers such as Volkswagen, Stellantis, Toyota and Geely, and the recently launched RN91xx 5G NAD module which is expected to help the company expand in North America, Europe, China and Japan.

Counterpoint Technology Market Research notes that ongoing chip shortage and supply chain tightness in the automotive sector is negatively impacting the NAD module demand from Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.

Commenting on the market outlook, Vice-president Research Neil Shah said: “Automotive NAD module shipments will grow by more than two times between 2020 and 2025. [...] 4G is expected to remain a dominant cellular technology in the global automotive NAD module market, but the share of 5G modules will grow fast after 2023."
