Senior Embedded SW Engineer

Rolling Wireless is an international company with 20+ years of experience in developing cellular modems and software for automotive market. We are worldwide the largest 2nd Tier supplier of cellular modems to the automotive industry.

Working at Rolling Wireless is joining a multicultural team at a high-growth organisation.

To support fast-growing business opportunities, we are opening a new R&D site in Budapest, Hungary. The R&D site will consist mostly of software development engineers.

We are looking for an individual who has good experience in Embedded Linux Application development.

Position / Assignment Purpose
  • Open-source embedded platform services & applications design, development & maintenance
  • Embedded Linux application design & development; debugging and performance tuning
Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work
  • Complete new feature study/design and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot critical software issues from the Test team and customers.
  • Design and code review to ensure the quality of delivery.
  • Support customers' integration with their applications.
Required Education
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux C programming; especially knowledge about Linux in:
    a) file system 
    b) TCP/IP Networking
    c) device drivers
    d) IPC
    e) memory management
    f) processes scheduling
  • Experience in Linux compilation systems like GNU make, Autotools and CMake 4) Linux application debugging skills using GNU tools like gdb, objdump, readelf, and coredump analysis
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Good Android knowledge and Qualcomm platform experience are preferable
  • Good C++ language knowledge is preferable
  • Security knowledge (Secure boot/MAC/TrustZone, etc.) is preferable
  • Knowledge of the embedded hypervisor architectures (Type 1/2) is preferable
  • Experience in the open-source community is preferred
  • Experience in AutoSAR is preferred
