Firmware Engineer - Protocol

As a member of new product development team, the incumbent in this position is responsible for debugging and troubleshooting the modem protocol issues in carrier/regulatory/customer approval, and delivering high quality modem firmware development for carrier/customer requirements.
Position / Assignment Purpose
To achieve CA stage with high quality delivery of production certification in a short (planning) time
Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work
  • Deliver high quality design for protocol features(eCall, GNSS, OMA…)
  • Follow Rolling Wireless coding standards and deliver high quality C code
  • Apply common debugging tools (GDB/KDB/QXDM/QPST…) to debug the issues in protocol feature development
  • Design comprehensive unit test cases and functional test cases for protocol related features and ensure the features pass the integration test
  • Involve in design review activities and contribute high quality comments in the expertise areas
  • Involve in code review activities and contribute high quality comments in the expertise areas
  • Troubleshooting in some critical technical issues
Required Education
BSEE/CS is mandatory, MS is preferable
Required Experience
  • At least 1 years’ work experience in wireless communication domain
  • Good skills in C programming Language
  • Hands on experience in embedded software development/debugging method and tools
  • Wireless protocol (GSM, WCDMA, TDS-CDMA, LTE, 5G) - GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou)
  • A creative, quick-learner with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent verbal and written English is an essential
  • Proactive working attitude. Being able to work well both independently and in a group
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience on supporting certification (GCF, PTCRB, carrier TA…) is preferred
